Job Description

Port Saint John is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting & Payroll Specialist to join our finance team. This role is pivotal in supporting the organization''s financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across a broad spectrum of accounting activities. If you can manage multiple priorities, and have a strong background in a related field, we want to hear from you Responsibilities Process payroll and related transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with statutory requirements. Administer Accounts Receivable activities including, monitor receivables, reconcile accounts, and customer communications. Administer Accounts Payable activities including, vendor management, invoice processing, account reconciliation and payment processing. Process employee and board expense claims ensuring adherence to company policies. Complete compliance reporting as required. Administer corporate credit card accounts, including monthly reconciliations and transaction reviews. Assist with capital project accounting, including reporting and reconciliation. Support the accounting team with budgeting, forecasting, analysis, and projects as required. Provide backup support for data processing as needed. Qualifications Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 7-10 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably in a similar environment. Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
