Pawsitive Pawadise is a small, community-focused, crate-free dog daycare and boarding space in Midtown Toronto. We''re currently looking for a reliable, motivated volunteer who wants hands-on experience working with dogs and is interested in eventually growing into a paid dog walking / dog care role as the business expands. About the Opportunity This is an entry point into the dog care world for someone who: Loves dogs and wants real, hands-on experience Is curious about dog walking, pet care, or animal-related work Is responsible, calm, and comfortable following routines Is looking to learn and grow, not just help occasionally This role starts as a volunteer position, with a clear path for growth. As the business grows and additional income is generated, there is potential for this role to transition into a paid position, including dog walking and ongoing dog care support. Time Commitment & Schedule Approximately 2 hours per day Ideal shift: 12:00 PM 2:00 PM Weekday availability preferred (MondayFriday) Consistency and reliability are more important than long hours This role is designed to fit someone looking for meaningful experience without a full-day commitment. What You''ll Be Doing Being present with dogs in a calm, structured environment Supporting daily routines and supervision while dogs are on-site Assisting during transitions throughout the day Learning dog handling basics and safety expectations Gradually assisting with or transitioning into dog walking (for the right fit) Who This Is For Someone interested in entering the dog care or dog walking field Students, career switchers, or animal lovers seeking hands-on experience Someone dependable, communicative, and respectful of boundaries Must be comfortable around multiple dogs and a busy environment Important Notes This is not a casual or drop-in volunteer role Reliability and consistency are essential This role is designed to grow, but paid work is not immediate The right volunteer will be considered first when paid opportunities open If you''re excited about working with dogs, learning the ropes, and growing alongside a small business, we''d love to hear from you.
