Job Summary We are seeking a dependable and experienced Cook to join our kitchen team at a well-established retirement home. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing nutritious, well-balanced meals for our residents while maintaining a clean, organized, and compliant kitchen environment. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in consistency, food safety, and working in a structured setting. Responsibilities Prepare and cook meals according to the approved menu and dietary guidelines Adhere strictly to residents'' dietary restrictions and food allergies Ensure meals are prepared on time and served at proper temperatures Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen at all times Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations Monitor food inventory and report shortages to the supervisor for proper ordering Properly store food and supplies to prevent spoilage and waste Assist with menu execution and portion control Maintain a respectful and professional attitude toward residents and staff Requirements Previous experience as a cook (restaurant, retirement home, long-term care, or institutional setting preferred) Cook Certification Knowledge of food safety standards and proper kitchen sanitation Ability to follow set menus and recipes consistently Strong organizational and time-management skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented Food Handler Certification Vulnerable Sector Criminal Check ORCA Training (We will Provide training) CPR & First Aid Ability to Communicate, Read & Write Proficiently in English This position offers an opportunity to develop culinary skills within a dynamic team dedicated to satisfying residents nutritional needs.
