Mikelle Search Group is partnering with a Calgary-based manufacturing organization with international operations on the search for a senior finance leader. This role represents a key addition to the executive team and will play a critical part in supporting the company through its next phase of growth and operational scale. Our client is seeking a commercially minded, hands-on finance leader who can balance strategic oversight with operational execution. The successful candidate will bring strong leadership capability, a deep understanding of manufacturing and cost-driven environments, and the ability to provide clear financial insight to support decision-making across the business. This position will oversee the full finance function, including financial planning and analysis, reporting, cash flow management, cost structures, and systems improvement. In addition, the role will work closely with senior leadership on growth initiatives, long-term planning, and governance, contributing meaningfully to enterprise-level strategy. Key Responsibilities / Job Duties Lead the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process, ensuring timely, accurate, and consistent financial reporting Prepare and review internal financial statements, management reporting, and variance analysis for leadership Maintain and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure accuracy, compliance, and data integrity Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and general ledger activity Manage cash flow, working capital, and liquidity forecasting, providing clear visibility into short- and medium-term funding needs Partner with operations to review inventory valuation, cost allocation, and production-related accounting practices Analyze cost structures and operational spending, identifying opportunities to improve margins and financial efficiency Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and rolling projections, working closely with department leaders Act as a key finance resource to leadership, providing practical financial guidance to support operational decisions Coordinate external audits, tax filings, and compliance requirements, working closely with external advisors Qualifications CPA designation 610 years of progressive accounting experience, including a hands-on Controller or Senior Manager role Direct experience in a manufacturing or product-based environment with responsibility for inventory, standard costing, and overhead allocation Full ownership of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes Strong experience preparing internal financial statements, management reporting, and variance analysis Solid understanding of cost accounting, inventory valuation, and margin analysis Hands-on management of cash flow, working capital, receivables, payables, and banking activity If you''d like to discuss the details of the position further, please email your resume to
