Front of House Manager Founded in 1929, the Highlands Golf Club is a member-owned club located in the beautiful North Saskatchewan River Valley, just east of Edmonton''s downtown core. Our golf course is for members and guest play only, while the clubhouse is open to both members and the public for dining. Highlands is also a popular venue for weddings, meetings, private dinners, and a variety of special events throughout the year. In the winter of 2024/2025, the Club completed an extensive clubhouse renovation, including a major kitchen expansion, a significantly enlarged patio with a new louvered pergola and built-in heaters, redesigned bar areas, and a full modernization of all interior dining spaces. The clubhouse fully reopened in May 2025, offering exciting new opportunities for continued service excellence and operational growth. Our long-time Food & Beverage Manager is retiring after 33 years at Highlands. To ensure a smooth transition, a period of overlap and knowledge transfer with the outgoing manager will be an important part of the new hiring process. We are now seeking an energetic, service-driven Front-of-House Manager to lead our front-of-house operations. Reporting to the Executive Chef and working as part of the Club''s management team, the Front-of-House Manager is responsible for all front-of-house (FOH) operations, including daily dining service and all special events. This is a year-round position, with a heavier and more demanding schedule from March through December. Key Responsibilities Provide leadership and oversight for all FOH dining and event operations, including the creation and execution of departmental goals. Promote a culture of exceptional members and guest service, ensuring consistently high-quality experiences. Maintain a strong and visible presence throughout the Club, actively engaging with members and guests and gathering feedback. Responsible for overseeing all outside special events, including sourcing and engaging prospective clients, conducting planning meetings, coordinating event logistics, and ensuring seamless on-site execution. Recruit, train, mentor, and develop a motivated FOH team, providing ongoing coaching, performance management, and skills development. This includes training, leading, developing, and overseeing a capable supporting staff of supervisors. Oversee FOH training programs, safety compliance, and administrative requirements. Schedule FOH and special-events staff to meet service demands while managing labor costs in accordance with budget. Manage ordering and inventory control for beverages, supplies, and related products. Lead the ongoing development and curation of wine, beer, liquor, and cocktail menus. Oversee daily cash-out procedures, ensuring accuracy in all POS transactions and member charges. Generate and analyze sales and budget reports, making recommendations to enhance revenue and efficiency. Ensure all food and beverage areas meet or exceed cleanliness, sanitation, and health-code standards. Participate in weekly management meetings and F&B team meetings. Perform additional duties as required to support the success of the department and Club. Qualifications and Skills 5+ years of experience as a Food & Beverage Supervisor or Manager; Club or golf course experience is an asset. Knowledge of the Jonas POS system is an asset. Strong leadership skills with proven ability to train, motivate, and develop staff. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines. Creative and proactive approach to generating new revenue and enhancing member experiences. The candidate must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, with peak demands from MarchDecember. Proficiency with computers and typical office software. Compensation and Benefits Monthly total compensation range: $5,000 $8,000. Benefits package includes but is not limited to a comprehensive benefits package available after three months, meal allowance, cell phone allowance, gas allowance for work-related travel, access to ongoing training and development, Pro Shop discounts, and support for ongoing training and development.
