Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Payroll Coordinator to join our team and ensure the accurate and timely processing of payroll for our organization. Duties Process payroll accurately and efficiently using systems such as Transplus Fleet Manager. Perform detailed data entry for employee hours, wages, deductions, and benefits into payroll and accounting software like QuickBooks. Reconcile payroll accounts through general ledger accounting practices, ensuring all debits & credits align with financial records. Manage benefits administration including enrollments, changes, and compliance with applicable regulations. Conduct account reconciliations related to payroll expenses, taxes, accounts payable/receivable, and non-profit or governmental accounting requirements. Prepare journal entries for payroll transactions and assist with month-end closing activities involving the general ledger. Maintain meticulous records of payroll transactions, tax filings, and employee data to support audits and compliance efforts. Collaborate with human resources on HRIS updates, employee classifications, tax documentation, and related processes. Support tax experience by ensuring proper withholding, reporting requirements are met for federal/state agencies. Assist in analyzing payroll data to identify discrepancies or opportunities for process improvements. Skills Proficiency with payroll management systems such as Transplus fleet. Strong knowledge of accounting principles including double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, debits & credits. Experience with accounting software like QuickBooks is highly desirable. Familiarity with benefits administration processes and HRIS platforms. Excellent data entry skills including 10 key typing accuracy and speed. Understanding of tax regulations related to payroll processing and reporting requirements. Ability to perform account reconciliation accurately within general ledger accounting frameworks. Analytical skills to interpret financial data and identify discrepancies or trends. Knowledge of governmental or non-profit accounting standards is a plus. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for maintaining comprehensive records. Effective communication skills to collaborate across departments and explain complex concepts clearly.
