Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Service Plumber/Gas Fitter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong residential and/or commercial service experience, excellent troubleshooting abilities, and the ability to work independently while maintaining high professional standards. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, installing, and maintaining plumbing and gas systems in compliance with BC codes and safety regulations. Key ResponsibilitiesPlumbing Services Diagnose and repair residential and commercial plumbing issues (leaks, clogged drains, pipe repairs, fixture replacements, etc.). Install and service plumbing fixtures such as sinks, toilets, tubs, showers, and faucets. Perform hot water tank and tankless water heater installations, maintenance, and repairs. Conduct preventative maintenance, inspections, and system testing. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications. Gas Fitting Services Install, maintain, and repair natural gas and propane appliances and systems. Perform gas line sizing, piping, and pressure tests. Install and service furnaces, boilers, fireplaces, rooftop units, and other gas-fired equipment. Ensure all work complies with the BC Gas Safety Regulations and Technical Safety BC requirements. Customer Service & Reporting Communicate clearly with customers regarding diagnoses, options, and recommended solutions. Provide accurate job estimates and obtain approvals before proceeding with work. Complete service reports, documentation, and safety forms. Maintain a clean and organized work site. Safety & Compliance Follow all WorkSafeBC safety protocols and company safety policies. Ensure all work meets the BC Plumbing Code, Gas Safety Code, and Technical Safety BC standards. Maintain required certifications and stay current with industry updates. Qualifications Red Seal Plumber certification (or registered apprentice with significant experience). Class B Gas Fitter certificate (Class A considered an asset). Valid BC driver''s license with a clean driving record. Minimum 25 years of plumbing and/or gas fitting experience preferred. Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver equipment and tools as required. Assets Experience with HVAC systems. Cross-connection control certification. Backflow testing experience.
