Work Term: Permanent Work Language: English Hours: 40 to 50 hours per week Education: No degree, certificate or diploma Experience: Will train Work site environment Beef cattle ranching and farming, including feedlots Livestock combination farming Outdoors Dusty Hot Noisy Odours Wet/damp Livestock All weather conditions Dirty Work setting Rural area Tasks Clear and collect brush and debris from fields, pens and other work areas Develop and guide the behaviour of farm animals Disinfect pens, barns or poultry houses Handling animals Level earth to fine grade specifications Monitoring animal health Perform animal grooming activities Perform livestock feeding Treat livestock health issues Weeding Feed and tend animals Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment Provide agricultural crop services such as plowing, irrigating, cultivating, spraying or harvesting Co-ordinate and supervise the work of general farm workers and harvesting labourers Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed Maintain livestock performance records Maintain quality control and production records Supervise and oversee growing and other crop-related operations Clean stables, barns, barnyards and pens Detect disease and health problems in crops, livestock and poultry Perform general farm duties Examine product for quality and its readiness for the market Set and monitor water lines, air flow and temperature in barns, pens and chicken coops Personal suitability Team player Flexibility Reliability Screening questions Are you authorized to work in Canada?
