Community Living Alternative Services (CLAS) is currently seeking one individual to fill the full-time position of Outreach Support Worker - Enhanced/Complex Needs. Position Summary: This is a front-line community disability services role that has responsibility to support and facilitate community access (outings, appointments, etc.) and the development of skills and competencies that will assist persons with disabilities to pursue and fulfill their goals, objectives and aspirations. Unlike many Outreach positions, this one is focused on supporting individuals with a higher range of complex needs. It does not require in-home supports but does often involve multi-diagnoses individuals and may include physical behaviours of concern. Schedule: 30 hours per week. Monday to Friday from AM-3PM). You will bring: A minimum of 1 year of experience in providing support to individuals with disabilities. Specifically, we are looking for staff who are knowledgeable in some or all of the following areas: Addictions, Homelessness, Harm Reduction, Trauma Informed Care, CPI needs and protocols, and Mental Health support needs. Confidently provide front line, face-to-face support to individuals with varying challenges Assist individuals in the development of social skills and meaningful relationships Assist and support individuals to access and participate in the community Utilize excellent verbal and written communication skills Possess intermediate computer skills Display professionalism Have a positive attitude and willingness to learn Ability to support others to identify and achieve goals Ability to deal with escalating behaviours of concern that might be expressed with physical aggression Successful utilization of verbal intervention strategies Work independently Maintain composure in unexpected situations or conversations Identify issues, set priorities, and implement an appropriate plan of action Proven ability to work collaboratively Be aware of and adhere to established policies, practices and operational protocols Other: -Must have a Class 5 or better Driver''s Licence issued in Canada -Must have a reliable car and personal liability insurance set at two million dollars ($2,000, in third party liability coverage -Ability to use personal vehicle for work purposes on a daily basis -Successful candidate will need to complete a Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sectors Search To Apply: Please complete our online application, which can be found at Please be advised that if you are selected to participate in an interview, you will be notified by either Human Resources and/or a Program Supervisor.
