OVERVIEW The Press Service Coordinator supports press operators to enable safe, efficient, and high-quality printing operations. Reporting to the Production Manager, the role is accountable for the lifecycle of press materialsfrom accurate preparation and staging through post-production cleaning and organized storageand for sustaining a clean, orderly, and hazard-controlled work area. Performance in this role directly affects production uptime, waste/scrap, asset longevity through disciplined execution of standard work, compliance with Company policies/procedure and Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) requirements. DUTIES 1. PRODUCTION MATERIAL READINESS & ACCURACY (Weighting 35%) Read and interpret each production docket to confirm the job number, current revision, plate and die identifiers, ink specifications, and any special notes or sequencing requirements. Retrieve the required plates, steel dies, inks, and ancillary supplies from designated locations and stage them at the assigned press area in advance of the scheduled changeover. Label and segregate all staged materials by job and confirm each identifier against the production docket and, where applicable, the ERP or tracking system before handing them to the operator. Escalates any discrepancyincluding missing or incorrect materials, location conflicts, damage, or obsolete revision immediately to the Supervisor or press lead and documents the issue per Company procedure. Conduct pre-stages the ''next-up'' job so that materials are ready in advance and changeover readiness targets established for each press family are met or exceeded without compromising safety or quality. 2. POST-PRODUCTION CARE & STORAGE (Weighting 25%) Clean all plates and dies using only approved methods and supplies in accordance with the Company''s standard Perform a visual inspection after cleaning to identify wear or damage and apply a ''REPAIR/QA CHECK'' tag and remove the asset from service when issues are observed. Ensure plates and dies are fully dried, protected, and returned to the correct, clearly labeled storage locations while maintaining proper orientation and avoiding over-stacking. Seal and label unused or partially used inks with the correct job and color information and return them to the designated inventory area in compliance with WHMIS and Company procedures. Maintain plate, die, and ink storage areas to established 5S housekeeping standards and support periodic re-indexing efforts and storage map updates to sustain organization and traceability. 3. DIRECT PRODUCTION & TEAM SUPPORT (Weighting 20%) Provide timely assistance to the press team during changeovers and, when directed, during active runs, while strictly adhering to all safety guards, interlocks, and procedures. Keep the immediate press zone clear of debris and obstructions by routinely removing scrap and recycling and restoring the work area to order after each job. Communicate proactively with the press operator and Supervisor regarding upcoming setups, special tooling or ink needs, and any risks that may affect schedule, quality, or safety. Remain vigilant for hazards or near misses and stops work and seeks guidance immediately if any unsafe condition is identified, consistent with the Company''s safety escalation process. 4. INVENTORY CONTROL & DATA ADMINISTRATION (Weighting 20%) Record all issues and returns of plates and dies and any location changes in real timeor no later than the end of the taskwithin the applicable logs or ERP module, including job number, asset identifier, and timestamp. Replace damaged or missing labels and ensure that identifiers and barcodes remain legible and scannable, requesting reprints as required. Participate in month-end physical counts for plates, dies, and inks as assigned, assist in reconciling variances, and propose corrective actions such as re-indexing locations, updating signage, or adjusting handling practices. Execute the approved ''find-it'' protocol when an asset is not found in its recorded location, document the temporary location if the item is recovered, and notify the Supervisor so that records can be corrected and systemic issues addressed. OHS Compliance & Safety Practices Consistently wears and maintains required PPE and follows safe-work procedures, including lockout/tagout and safe material-handling practices. Handle labels, store inks/solvents and other controlled products in accordance with WHMIS, SDS guidance, and Company chemical-control procedures. Maintain housekeeping/5S standards in the press zone and storage areas, ensuring clear egress and unobstructed access to emergency equipment. Promptly identifies and reports hazards, near misses, and incidents; participates in investigations and implements assigned corrective actions. Participate in mandatory safety training/toolbox talks and demonstrates procedure adherence during audits and observations. JOB QUALIFICATION Minimum high school diploma (or equivalent). Working experience in printing/converting (e.g., corrugated, labels, flexo) or closely related production settings is considered an asset. Prior exposure to color/ink identification (e.g., Pantone codes, mix instructions) and basic quality checks at the press is considered an asset Experience with reading and interpreting production documents (e.g., job dockets, labels, basic SOPs) and communicating in functional English (written and verbal). Ability to safely lift and carry up to 23 kg (50 lb) frequently and up to 34 kg (75 lb) occasionally using team lifts or mechanical aids; the candidate can stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods. Available to work shift schedules, overtime, and weekend work as operationally required. Consistently demonstrates safety awareness by following safety rules, wears required PPE, and demonstrates sound judgment around moving equipment, chemicals/solvents, and pinch points
