Job Description

Position Summary The Seasonal Winter Maintenance Area Lead is responsible for coordinating and leading snow and ice control operations within an assigned area. This role ensures safe, accessible conditions during winter weather events by supervising crews, operating equipment as needed, and maintaining high standards for safety and efficiency. Key Responsibilities Lead and supervise winter maintenance crews within an assigned area Coordinate snow and ice removal operations during winter weather events Monitor weather conditions and adjust staffing and response plans accordingly Operate snow removal equipment (plow trucks, loaders, snow blowers, spreaders) as needed Ensure proper application of de-icing materials Conduct pre- and post-storm inspections of assigned areas Communicate clearly with supervisors, dispatch, and team members Enforce safety procedures and proper use of equipment and PPE Assist with training seasonal staff on winter maintenance procedures Complete basic reports, logs, and equipment checks Qualifications Prior experience in snow and ice control or grounds maintenance preferred Previous leadership or crew lead experience strongly preferred Ability to operate winter maintenance equipment safely and effectively Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to work long hours in cold, inclement weather Physically capable of performing manual labor (lifting, shoveling, standing/walking for extended periods) Valid driver''s license with acceptable driving record (if applicable) Working Conditions Outdoor work in severe winter conditions (snow, ice, cold temperatures) Irregular hours based on weather events On-call availability throughout the winter season Job Type: Seasonal Contract length: 4 months Pay: $1,400.00-$1,600.00 per week Work Location: In person
