ElderCare Edmonton (ECE) is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting adults and their caregivers. We provide recreational therapeutic day programs for adults living independently in the Edmonton and surrounding communities. Founded in 1980, our programs are unique in offering social and recreational activities rather than medical-based services. Our day programs are designed to: Foster new friendships. Reduce isolation. Promote independence. Support social, physical, and cognitive well-being through tailored activities. The ECE Board is responsible for the strategic direction for our organization, and the support of volunteers serving as board directors is invaluable in supporting our mission. We are particularly interested in applications from community members with experience in: Non-Profit Law Fundraising Communications or Marketing Experience as a caregiver, particularly of persons experiencing Alzheimer''s or Dementia Volunteer Board Members meet for approximately ten times per calendar year in-person or virtually, with in-person attendance preferred. Meetings take place on the third Monday evening of each month, and normally last for approximately two hours. We ask for a minimum commitment of three years.
