This is primarily an in-person position, requiring in-person appointments in Cobourg as well as our main office in Peterborough. It is anticipated that the position will support Northumberland clients up to 2 days/week and Peterborough clients the remainder. The Clinical Counsellor will provide individual, couples and family counselling.The role also includes group facilitation, client screening, crisis intervention including risk assessment and safety planning. This position works within the Professional Counselling team, attending weekly clinical team meetings and receiving supervision from the Clinical Team Lead. PROGRAM DESCRIPTION CCRC''s Professional Counselling Program (PC) provides clinical counselling on a sliding fee scale with no one turned away for an inability to pay. We offer counselling for mild to moderate mental health concerns using a short to mid-term model (6-12 sessions). CONTRACT DETAILS CCRC is seeking a Clinical Counsellor. This is a twelve (12) month contract position beginning asap. The starting salary is $33.02 per hour for 35 hours per week . The pay range is $ $40.21 per hour. Total compensation includes 2 weeks of vacation, paid closure between Christmas and New Year''s Day, casual dress, and paid sick leave. Regular hours of work are 8:30am to 4:30pm with the expectation to work one day per week until 8:00 p.m. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS MSW, MA or equivalent Registration or eligible to register with the OCSWSSW or CRPO Education and/or work experience demonstrating sound theoretical knowledge of clinical presentations Assessment skills and experience in applying appropriate clinical interventions, including crisis intervention skills Commitment to working in accordance with CCRC''s Mission, Vision, and Values, and in a way that is equitable, and strives to meet the needs of the communities we serve The ability to travel to both the Peterborough and Cobourg offices PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience providing psycho-education and / or therapy groups Experience providing couples counselling Lived experience and/or understanding of issues affecting people living with low income, mental health concerns, trauma or other forms of vulnerability or marginalization Education and/or experience in crisis intervention LIVED EXPERIENCE STATEMENT We strongly value the lived experience of mental health challenges.
