Job Description The HR Assistant supports the Human Resources team with daily administrative and operational tasks, helping ensure smooth HR processes, effective communication, and a positive experience for staff and volunteers. This role plays an essential part in recruitment, onboarding, records management, and event-related HR support. Responsibilities: Administrative & HR Support Assist with day-to-day HR administrative tasks Maintain and update HR records, spreadsheets, and databases Support documentation such as agreements, onboarding forms, and policies Recruitment & Onboarding Support volunteer and staff recruitment processes Assist with screening applications and conducting interviews Help prepare onboarding materials and orientation sessions Communication & Engagement Assist with internal communications (emails, Slack, announcements) Support volunteer engagement and recognition initiatives Help with certificates, thank-you messages, and appreciation activities Event Support (when applicable) Provide HR support during events (registration, shifts, issue resolution) Act as a point of contact for volunteers during assigned shifts Qualifications/Skills: Currently pursuing or completed studies in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related fields Strong organizational and time-management skills Good written and verbal communication skills Comfortable working with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive) Familiarity with HR processes (recruitment, onboarding, records) Proactive, detail-oriented, and collaborative mindset Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, event-driven environment Experience with volunteers, events, or non-profit organizations (an asset) Working hours: 15-20 hours per week (3 months) What you get from us: Reference letter upon completion (3 months) to upgrade your resume.
