ARCHER CRM is now recruiting for full time Junior Geomatician to be based out of our Fort St John office, or out of our Prince George office, to carry out & assist with day-to-day spatial field data collection and coordination. We are looking for applicants who are detail orientated, comfortable with remote field work, and are willing to work away from home in a field camp setting. Job Description Primary Responsibility: To work with a supportive and collaborative team in the accurate collection, transfer, and quality control of GIS data to and from the field. Field GIS data will be collected in support of archaeological field investigations, and under the supervision of both Supervising Field Archaeologists and Senior Geomaticians. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: Spatial GIS data preparation for fieldwork; Spatial GIS field data collection and mapping of terrain and archaeological features; Transfer and maintenance of GIS data; General map production for reports and fieldwork; Archaeological site map production within ArcGIS; Co-ordinate with Project Lead(s) and Report Writers to satisfy client needs. Preference given to those with the following skills/experience: 1- 3 years experience (with a proven and positive track record) as a Geomatician, Field Survey experience is an asset; Knowledge of Trimble data collectors and GNSS receivers (TDC600, R1, Total Station, Catalyst & Terraflex); Practical experience using Trimble technology in field data collection; Experience using ArcGIS desktop; Baseline experience in QGIS; Knowledge of Microsoft Office Professional suite; Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat; The ability to follow direction, work independently with minimal guidance and work in a team environment. Requirements: Valid Class 5 Driver''s License; Ability to independently travel to and from the worksite location daily; Canadian Citizen, or legally eligible to work in Canada; Undergraduate degree or technical diploma in GIS or Geography, or equivalent GIS experience; Demonstrate cartographic and ArcGIS experience/abilities.
