Position Summary: As a Forklift Operator you will be responsible to transport loads and check contents, and compile and check documents of freight goods, tally and record consignments and destination details of products. Put receiving product away to its picking location. Key Responsibilities: Operate forklifts and reach trucks safely to load and unload products. Loads outgoing trucks and unloads incoming trucks at shipping bay. Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records. Fills out a receiving report to document cleanliness of product and truck and to ensure proper temperature. Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications. Pick (assemble) and stage order accurately in designated locations Marks shrink-wrapped product/skid with destination information. Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages. Routes items to departments. Production support: replenishing material and moving finished goods. Operate lift truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping-and-receiving platform to storage or work area. Utilize Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and spreadsheets for inventory control and reporting. Accurately manage inventory transactions ensuring product traceability, correct labeling and FIFO compliance. Conduct daily pre-start inspections of industrial trucks and report maintenance issues. Able to competently and safely operate counterbalance, Dock Stocker and Raymond Reach (training will be provided). All other duties as may be required from time to time. Physical Demands: May be required to stand/sit/walk for long periods of time. Will be required to engage in bending, stooping, squatting and ladder climbing. Due to the environment, must be able to work in various weather and temperature conditions which include extreme heat, humidity and cold. Will be required to move product in and out of freezer. May be required to lift heavy objects (up to 25 kg or 50 lbs). Health and Safety: Conduct all Job Tasks in a Safe and Responsible manner. Participate in all Health and Safety, GMP and HACCP training as required. Report any accidents, incidents and unsafe/hazardous conditions to your leadhand/supervisor. Report any damages of property and machinery to your leadhand/supervisor. Ensure that you understand how and when to use the Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE) that is located in your work area. Ensure you comply with OHSA, WSIB, MOL regulations and/or laws that govern ''workers'' responsibilities in the and comply with Tradition Fine Foods Ltd. Safety Rules. Qualifications: Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of 3 years of related experience. Familiarly with general manufacturing operations and inventory systems Possess good communication skills, well-organized and able to work efficiently and accurately. Valid Forklift license for Counterbalance, Raymond Reach and Dock Stocker with minimum 2 years of experience. Proficient with Warehouse Management Systems and Microsoft Office would be an asset.
