Job Overview Townsview Estates is a 51-bed residential care facility located in Truro, NS, licensed by the Province of Nova Scotia. As a Continuing Care Assistant, you will provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. Under the direction of an RN and/or LPN, your primary focus will be on enhancing the quality of life for our clients, ensuring their comfort and well-being. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about caregiving and making a positive impact in the lives of seniors. Successful applicants must provide a clean vulnerable and criminal sector check and be physically and mentally capable to complete a 12 hour shift day or night. Duties include but are not limited to: Providing or cueing personal care to clients, including assistance with bathing, grooming, and dressing. Assisting in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating resident care. Administering medications Light housekeeping duties Assisting with mobility and transfers to ensure safety and comfort. Offering companionship and emotional support to enhance clients'' overall well-being. Documenting care provided and reporting any changes in client condition to the supervising nurse. Maintaining and promoting health and safety standards and procedures according to Townsview''s guidelines and resident care standards to a level of consistency with recognized provincial standards, including ethical guidelines. Promoting and maintaining good working relationships and communication within the facility, with other health care program personnel, with residents and their families and with the general public. Adhering to safety protocols and maintaining a clean, organized environment. Adhering to Infection Prevention and Control policies and protocols. Qualifications To be successful in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications: CCA certification or enrollment in CCA program Non Violent Crisis Intervention First Aid/CPR Training Fire & Life Safety Medication Awareness Basic principles of personal care Experience with seniors is preferred Strong caregiving skills with a genuine passion for helping others Ability to work effectively with individuals and seniors Excellent communication skills to interact positively with clients, families, and team members A compassionate demeanor with patience and empathy towards clients'' needs Job Type: Casual Pay: From $23.11 per hour Work Location: In person
