Responsibilities include but are not exclusive to: medication administration coordinate, develop and implement residents'' plans of care complete assignments in a reasonable time frame serve as a resource person for other nursing staff ensure maximum safety of staff and residents perform all nursing skills as listed in the Ontario College of Nurses Standards co-ordinate all medical orders in relation to individual resident plan evaluate the effectiveness of resident plans of care liaison with other health care team members train/orientate new registered nursing staff, as well as non-registered nursing staff provide work direction, instruction & guidance to non-registered nursing staff participate in a multi-disciplinary approach to care/collaborate with all members of health care team cope effectively in emergencies demonstrate leadership skills and utilize effective problem solving skills work safely and follow all workplace policies and procedures, to reduce the risk of injury to self, co-workers and residents. Desired work experience: Registered nursing experience working in a long term care home Registered nursing experience working in a gerontology-related field Registered nursing experience working in an acute care facility or in community nursing Education: Current certificate of competence & in good standing with College of Nurses of Ontario Current CPR certificate Job Type: Casual Pay: From $31.98 per hour Education: Bachelor''s Degree (preferred) Licence/Certification: LPN/RPN (preferred) Work Location: In person
