Company Description Birch Fumigators is one of Edmonton''s oldest and most reliable pest control and extermination companies. We have been evicting unwanted pests from commercial and residential properties since 1900, including ant hills, bedbug infestations, cockroaches and more. Role Description The successful candidate will spend their probationary period working as an assistant to the applicator as paid hands-on training. During this time, the candidate will be required to obtain their Alberta CORE Pesticide applicator license. After probation, the employee will have an additional 3 months to obtain their Alberta Structural Pesticide Applicator License. Each exam is closed book with a recommended 40hours minimum dedicated study time. Once trained and licensed, the technician will be responsible for driving to different locations within Edmonton to meet clients, conduct on-site inspections, and provide pest control services. Employees can expect continuous hands on training. This position is full time at 40 hours per week with overtime and commissions. Hours are flexible between 8 hours days-5 days a week or 10 hour days-4 days a week. This however, is not flexible during the probation and training period. Daily Job Duties Completing pest control inspections and determine the best course of action to eliminate pests Establish relationships with a variety of customers and answer any questions or concerns they may have Safety handle and store pesticides as per label Accurately mix and apply pesticides as needed as per label Accurately detail sanitation, structural and pest issues as well as material usage Maintain flexibility to assist customers in a fast past environment Physical Demands Must be able to access and be comfortable with working in confined, damp or dusty locations Must be able to physically perform essential duties of the position which includes lifting, kneeling, crouching, and reaching Must be able to lift up to 50lbs and be physically in good shape Qualifications and Skills Must have a valid driver''s license High School Diploma or equivalent Must be able to navigate smart phones and field service management software Must be able to pass an enhanced security clearance & drug screening Must be able to obtain both applicator licenses within the above described time frame Previous experience in the pest control industry is a plus but not required Strong attention to detail Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills Ability to work independently Excellent time management skills Benefits Company events Dental care Disability insurance Extended health care Company provided phone, vehicle & PPE Life insurance On-site parking Vision care Free on-site storage available The interview process will consist of a short telephone interview followed by an in person interview.
