You are the Weather your energy sets the tone Position Summary The Lead Counsellor is the primary support person for a team of counsellors. In this role, you will help plan and run daily activities, act as the go-to resource for questions, provide coverage during staff breaks, and help maintain consistent structure and camper expectations. Support behaviour management and help ensure that all programming runs smoothly. Assistance with on-ice training sessions as needed. Lead Camp Counsellors work closely with the Camp Coordinator to ensure a safe, organized, and positive camp environment while modeling leadership and professionalism for other staff. This overnight leadership role includes some weekend work, with meals and accommodations provided. Responsibilities Support Camp Counsellors during their day and evening duties. Be ready and available to sub on and off the ice. Lead residence program planning and execution. Supervise and support campers during daily activities and evening routines. Provide minor first aid when required. Stay overnight in camp accommodations and oversee management of camper behaviour. Co-lead team meetings & training. Additional duties as assigned by leadership. Supervision Reports to: Coordinator, Residence (or Director, Residence when the Coordinator is unavailable). Provides supervision to: Campers/players. Qualifications 2+ years of experience working with kids, in a camp setting. At least 1 year with Prep Camp Excellent communication skills, initiative and a positive attitude. Physical fitness to keep pace with young athletes. Excellent critical thinking skills in various situations. Ability to skate/hockey background. Current First Aid + CPR C certification.
