Regeneration Outreach Community is a community of caring persons who, as an expression of Christian love in action, are continually striving to provide dignity to the lives of all those in need. We operate seven days a week bringing healing, personal growth and spiritual awareness to those in need within a safe and caring environment. Our work at Regeneration ''begins where the guest is'' by working to assess the areas of need, and to develop, implement and to facilitate groups. The role will focus on relationship building - beginning with our guests and volunteers, and also within the professional community, to promote and inform about Regeneration and the services provided. Job Responsibilities Building therapeutic relationships that empower our guests to meet their personal goals System navigation/referrals Supporting individuals who are experiencing homelessness and/or mental illness Facilitating the meal program and essential care programs Provide a safe and welcoming space for guests and volunteers Co- facilitating groups, as well as facilitating social integration program programs Supporting guests with housing placement, housing loss prevention, income support applications, liaising with other resources Advocacy (ie. With Landlords, Ontario Works, Shelters, and other community agencies) Working through crisis situations with guests One to one meetings with guests Attending community meetings when necessary and foster relationships with community partners Collaborating with community partners to provide a wrap-around approach for guest support Develop strategies with staff to help guests to improve their overall wellbeing Maintain proper records on guests In collaboration with management, mentor and support placement students Represent Regeneration when required (i.e. presentations, booths, etc.) Collect Stories Other duties as required Requirements and Qualifications Diploma or degree in Social Service field Understanding of the complexities of addiction and/or mental illness Crisis Intervention and de-escalation training is an asset CPR/First Aid Training is an asset Effective time-management skills Great interpersonal and communication skills Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination approved by Health Canada Current Vulnerable Sector Check ''G Class'' driver''s license with clean driver''s abstract (preferred) Reports to Director of Operations Job Type: Full-time Pay: $19.55-$25.00 per hour Benefits: Casual dress Disability insurance Discounted or free food On-site parking Paid time off Vision care Experience: social service: 2 years (required) Work Location: In person
