Role Description This is a full-time on-site role for an Accounting Manager at Mackie Transportation in Oshawa, ON. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing financial statements, journal entries, analyzing financial data, managing fixed assets, and ensuring financial compliance and accuracy within the organization. Qualifications Financial Statements and Analytical Skills Experience with Journal Entries and Finance Experience in a supervisory role overseeing financial accounting Knowledge of Fixed Assets management Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting Excellent organizational and time management skills Ability to work well independently and in a team environment Bachelor''s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA Preferred) Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Organized and strong attention to detail Ability to work independently and as a team, and take initiative Strong proficiency with MS Excel, accounting systems, databases and word processing Previous history of bookkeeping Has Experience working with external auditors Has Experience working with banking partners RESPONSIBILITY (not limited to): Managing and supervising accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger and accounting controls. Performing month end and year end accounting processes to ensure the integrity of financial results. Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and government regulations relating to taxation, audits, filings, licensing. Initiating and implementing management controls in loss prevention and protection of assets including cash, parts, vehicles, equipment, supplies, etc. Engaging with senior management on financial analysis, annual forecasting and planning activities. Proactively identifying opportunities, recommending and formulating process and policy improvements and implement change where required.
