Job Description Alternatives Funeral & Cremation Services is seeking a Part-Time Funeral Attendant to support our funeral directors and care team during visitations, services, and related family interactions. This role is highly people-facing and plays an important part in creating a calm, respectful, and supportive environment for families during one of the most difficult times in their lives. Funeral Attendants help ensure services run smoothly, spaces are properly prepared, and families and guests feel welcomed and cared for. Hours are non-guaranteed and scheduled based on service needs. Responsibilities Greeting and attending to families and guests during visitations, viewings, and services Assisting with set-up and tear-down of viewings, services, and events (most primary setup is completed by the Funeral Director) Helping with light tasks such as: Setting up or operating DVDs, slideshows, or audio/visual equipment Repositioning floral arrangements or furniture as requested by families Maintaining a professional, calm, and respectful presence throughout services Ensuring viewing rooms, public areas, and service spaces remain clean, organized, and presentable Assisting funeral directors and staff as needed during services and events Delivering cremated remains to families'' homes when required, with professionalism and sensitivity Supporting services at the Aldergrove location and at off-site venues throughout the Lower Mainland Schedule & Hours Part-time, non-guaranteed hours Estimated 1520 hours per week, typically 45 days per week Most shifts scheduled Monday through Saturday Average viewing shift length: 3.0 4.5 hours Occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays required Qualifications & Requirements Professional appearance and demeanor Courteous, attentive, and compassionate at all times Comfortable interacting with families, guests, and staff in emotional situations Flexible schedule with the ability to work varying days and hours Ability to work independently while also being a strong team player Physically able to lift up to 60 lbs Valid driver''s license and reliable transportation Comfortable working in a funeral home environment Ideal Candidate Traits Calm, respectful, and dependable Strong interpersonal and communication skills Comfortable working without rigid limitations in a service-driven environment Takes pride in helping families feel supported and cared for Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented Job Type: Part-time Pay: From $23.00 per hour Work Location: In person
