School Finances Administrator Open To: Open Competition Job Location: Catholic Education Centre, 46 Alliance Blvd, Barrie Ontario Position Type / Hours: Full-Time Temporary. Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm, 35 hours weekly, plus overtime as required. Effective Immediately until August 13, 2027 Annual Compensation: $69,302 to $86,903 (Group C) Commensurate with education, skills and experience Job Summary Reporting to the Senior Manager, Financial Services, the School Finances Administrator provides expertise and guidance to all internal and external The School Finances Administrator plays a crucial role in supporting the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board by overseeing and ensuring the accuracy and compliance of financial practices related to school-generated funds and school budgets. This role provides in-depth expertise and guidance to school staff, administration, and volunteers, facilitating adherence to Board policies and Ministry of Education guidelines. Key responsibilities include financial reporting, forecasting, analysis, and conducting internal audits to maintain transparency and accountability in financial operations. The position also involves training school personnel, offering ongoing technical and procedural support, and contributing to the development and implementation of efficient financial systems. By fostering strong relationships within the Board and with external stakeholders, the School Finances Administrator ensures that financial processes run smoothly and effectively, promoting sound financial management across all schools. Specific Duties and Responsibilities Include Responsible for ensuring that all school-generated fund activities are conducted efficiently and in compliance with Board policies and relevant legislation by administering audits to mitigate financial and operational risks, ensuring adherence to Ministry of Education and Canada Revenue Agency requirements. Acts as the subject matter expert on school-generated funds to all internal and external contacts of the Board, providing guidance and influencing the development and formation of Board policies to maintain best practices and compliance standards. Responsible for creating and coordinating Annual Fundraising Plans by developing personalized workbooks and working with each school to ensure alignment with Board policies, legislative requirements, and transparency to the public. Provides strategic and integrated leadership to office administrators, vice-principals, and principals by delivering personalized training sessions, developing training resources, publishing Board-wide memos, and hosting annual professional development sessions to promote continuous learning and support. Oversees the Cashless Management Solution contract by training all users, coordinating with external stakeholders to implement process improvements, troubleshooting user issues, and promoting parent adoption to comply with the Board''s policy of cashless schools. Provides expert advice and support related to school budgets as needed. Required Skills and Qualifications: The successful candidate will bring the following skills and experiences to the role: Diploma or Degree in Business, Finance or Accounting. Three (3) to five (5) years'' experience. School based financial experience is preferred. Experience with School Day and VIA/SDS software preferred. Proficient with computer applications Microsoft Excel, Word, Gmail, Google platform, and Adobe Acrobat.
