Autism Connections is proud to offer the First Tee Community Program an inclusive, play-based program that helps autistic children build confidence, character, and connection through golf. No prior golf experience is required. This role is well-suited for individuals interested in working with children, education, recreation, or community programs. Using the official First Tee curriculum and equipment, sessions focus on fun, movement, and life skills such as teamwork, respect, and perseverance. Each child attends with a caregiver present, creating a supportive and collaborative environment. We are seeking two (2) Program Facilitators to support and lead weekly First Tee sessions. Facilitators will help deliver activities, engage participants, and create a welcoming, inclusive environment for autistic children and their families. Program Schedule Sessions run on Monday evenings and are divided into two age-based groups: Ages 8 & under: 5:005:45 PM Ages 9+: 6:007:00 PM The winter session runs for 8 weeks and is held at 162 York Street in Fredericton. In addition to the weekly sessions, facilitators will be required to meet weekly to review lesson plans and ensure they are prepared for the next session. At times you will also be required to attend meetings in person regarding First Tee. These additional hours will take place at our centre located at 1666 Lincoln Road in Fredericton. Key Responsibilities Support delivery of the First Tee Community Program curriculum. Assist with setting up and taking down equipment each week. Engage positively with children and caregivers during sessions. Manage and monitor equipment and ensure it stays in good repair and nothing goes missing. Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and encouraging environment. Follow program routines, policies and procedures, and guidance provided by Autism Connections. Pick up the facility key on the morning of each session and ensure it is returned at the end of each session. Required Availability & Requirements Available 3 hours per week on Mondays from 4:30pm-7:30pm to run the program, and an additional minimum of 3 hours per week for planning/organizing (these hours are flexible and can be based on candidate availability). Available for a minimum total of 6 hours per week. Reliable transportation: A facilitator must pick up the facility key each Monday prior to 3:30pm. Facilitators will be required on occasion to transport equipment. They must have reliable transportation to 1666 Lincoln Road and 161 York Street in Fredericton). Able to commit to perfect attendance for the full 8-weeks of sessions. Comfortable working with autistic children and their caregivers. Dependable, punctual, and willing to learn. Must have a current Background Check with Vulnerable Sector screening dated within the last 6 months (or be willing to obtain one prior to starting). Qualifications No golf experience required First Tee curriculum will be provided. Experience with children, recreation, education, or community programs is an asset. An interest in inclusion, play-based learning, and community support is strongly valued. Reliable transportation.
