Duties Assist optometrist with patient care, including: obtaining data from various instruments (autorefractor, non-contact tonometer, lensometer), taking patient history, measuring visual acuity, and performing preliminary tests Prepare examination rooms and equipment for patient visits Schedule appointments and manage patient flow Provide exceptional customer service in every area of the office Educate patients on contact lens insertion and removal techniques Assist with frame selection, dispensing of eyewear and minor repairs Maintain accurate and organized electronic medical records Perform other administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning documents, answering phones, registering patients, verifying insurance, etc Qualifications Experience in an optometry or ophthalmology office is an asset but not required. Training will be provided (MAYBE YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A CAREER CHANGE) Strong interpersonal skills and ability to provide excellent customer service to patients of all ages, including pediatrics Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail -Must be able to work well with others.
