Job Description

Meat Department Manager Reporting to the Store Manager and SUNRIPE Owners, the Meat Department Manager is responsible for ensuring the Meat Department operates successfully by being profitable, and adhering to all company and government regulations. Overseeing a staff of approximately five, the Meat Department Manager is also accountable for liaising between Kitchen, Produce, Bakery, Deli, Payroll, Accounting and Human Resource Departments. The Meat Dept. manager manages the sales of fresh meat, fresh seafood and various other prepared and signature products. Job Responsibilities Provide courteous, friendly and efficient customer service Ensure a positive, friendly and supportive work environment Supervise, train, mentor and conduct annual performance reviews on employees Work alongside Human Resources and Store Manager with hiring Conduct and submit month end inventory counts to the accounting department Order, receive and verify invoices against shipments for accuracy and freshness Store products in a clean, organized fashion while ensuring safe food storage Manage department profit margin by following recipes, verifying product costs, and updating retail pricing Create, maintain and rotate product display Manage production of meat items while following SUNRIPE''s cutting program Make purchases from SUNRIPE''s approved vendors only Manage department schedules within labour budget assigned while ensuring adequate staffing Flexible availability from 6 am until 8 pm Unload, warehouse and properly rotate incoming products Maintain a safe and impeccably clean Meat Department by complying with company policies and procedures Follow and ensure government regulations are adhered to Enforce and abide by company policies and procedures Attend huddles, Manager meetings, and staff meetings Other assigned duties as they may arise Qualifications Two years'' experience as a Meat Department Manager or Assistant Meat Dept Manager Minimum 5 Years Experience in Butchering and Cutting Meat College Diploma or Degree in Business, Culinary or Related Experience Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills Ability to delegate, lead and inspire a team with a passionate and positive demeanor Basic Computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Office What we offer Competitive pay rates with profit sharing Benefits that include life, health and dental insurance An excellent facility with state of the art equipment A fun clean place to work that encourages work-life balance Coaching and mentoring from the Management team and Owners Employee Discount Occasional training programs, e.g., Food Handling, First Aid Job Type: Full-time Pay: $24.00-$26.00 per hour Work Location: In person
