If yes, this opportunity is for you The Member Experiences Liaison is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and fostering a welcoming environment for all visitors. This role requires a proactive and engaging individual who is passionate about connecting with people and enhancing their experience at our facilities. You will be a key point of contact for patrons, offering assistance, answering questions, and providing information about our programs and services. In addition, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and comfort of our patrons by being visible, approachable, and responsive to their needs. What will you do? Conduct facility orientations and tours Support patrons with identifying programs to meet their goals Meet and interact with people and demonstrate an enthusiastic and positive attitude Engage patrons with information and benefits offered at the facility Provide information on current fitness and sport services and programs Provide information on safe operation of equipment, sports rules, and amenity etiquette Assist facility operations with preparing spaces for programs and rental activities Monitor and maintain equipment inventory; and ensure equipment is in safe working conditions Respond to emergency situations as needed Perform other relevant duties as assigned Qualifications: Grade 12 or high school equivalent Assets: Completion or in-progress of a related post-secondary degree or diploma in recreation and fitness Ability to speak a second language Skills required for success: Good understanding of quality customer service with an ability to make new connections and build relationships with a diverse group of people Skilled at de-escalating challenging situations in a positive and safe manner An individual who embraces a mindset of openness towards inclusiveness is fundamental in fostering environments where all individuals feel valued, respected, and empowered Comfortable handling minor first aid situations A strong understanding of fitness equipment and exercise etiquette Demonstrated ability to problem solve and work in fast past environments Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team Able to manage priorities effectively Alignment to our Cultural Commitments and Leadership Competencies ( ) Embracing a culture of equity, diversity, reconciliation and inclusion Applicants may be tested Conditions of Employment: Hire is dependent upon a Police Information Check including Vulnerable Sector check satisfactory to the City of Edmonton Valid Intermediate First Aid and CPR Level C/AED Certification is required The weekly hours of work for this position are currently under review and may change at a future time.
