Position Details Reporting tothe Program Manager BGC Airdrie Club, the Certified Level 2 ECE Support Worker will aid all BGC Airdrie Children''s Programs and Service, providing program relief when scheduled staff are unable to attend programs. 20 hours per week is guaranteed for employment currently. This position requires flexibility in your schedule being able to support programming taking place between 6:30am 8:00pm, Monday to Friday during all school days, and non-schedule school days. Our children''s programs focus on social, recreational, and educational programming as well as promote self-esteem enhancement for children grades 1-5. Our site locations include : Heloise Lorimer, RJ Hawkey, Nose Creek Elementary, and BGC Airdrie Club Location. You will be required to work at each location as needed each week. Our kids are amazing, and the environment is ever-changing, rewarding, supportive and a lot of fun Key Responsibilities Planning & organizing daily programming with the support of BGC Program Leads as requested. Facilitation of social recreational and educational programs for children grades 1-5, focusing on social skill development and individual self-esteem enhancement. Volunteer management such as youth volunteers, or practicum students. Daily facilities management including cleaning and ensuring facility health and safety. Ensures all areas of programming adheres to Licensing Standards as directed by Alberta Human Services. Ensures all areas of programming adheres to the revised Licensing Program Plan. Able to support the needs of children in a fast-paced, engaging childcare environment. Ability to create supportive and engaging relationships with parents and guardians. Ability to positively engage in a welcoming team environment with a clear understanding of BGC Airdrie policies and procedures. Punctuality, and consistent program attendance, as it is vital to the success of your role and building relationships with the participants. Skills Must be 18 years of age or older** Certified Level 2 ECE as per Alberta Child Care Certification Flexibility and adaptability working in various childcare settings with different teams each week Previous experience working with school aged children in an after-school program Excellent communication and organizational skills. Able to work as part of a team and model confidence during times of independence. Certified in First Aid (Level B or C) or ability to obtain it within 1 month of your employment. Ability to provide RCMP Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector, Child Intervention Check Hours of Work This is a 20 hour per week position, with additional hours available when required. Hours will be scheduled based on weekly need. Direct Child Care Hours Before School Monday-Friday 6:30am-8:30am as needed After School: Monday - Thursday 2:30-6:00pm Fridays 12:45 PM 6:00 PM School Days only. Evening Programs 6:00pm 8:00pm coverage as needed. PD Days 8:30am-4:30pm coverage as needed. Wage top up funding Coverage at licensed programs allows you to receive an extra wage enhancement as per the GOA.
