Summary As a Hydrovac Operator for Polar Communications, you will work with our field technicians to install, repair and replace underground telecommunications lines. Experienced in supporting utility maintenance or construction projects, you will safely daylight, trench and soft excavate around utilities to provide a positive customer experience while delivering on Polar''s commitment to our Telecom partners. What you will do Operate Hydrovac truck and equipment in a safe and professional manner Inspect and maintain vehicles and equipment in good working condition at all times and complete all required documentation. Troubleshoot and repair minor mechanical issues Follow company safety standards, policies and procedures at all times Aspire to work in a team environment with increased responsibly being expected Other duties as assigned How you will do it Complete work in a timely and safe manner with a solutions focused, positive attitude Work with minimal supervision, both independently and collaboratively in a team Share your knowledge with field technicians to develop their skill level Meet the physical requirements of the position including lifting up to 40lbs in all types of weather conditions What you bring to the table 3+ years previous hydrovac experience would be an asset. Telecommunications experience an asset. Safety certifications preferred (e.g. First Aid/CPR, C.S.T.S, H2S Alive, Fall Protection, Confined Space, OSSA and Ground Disturbance) Must have a minimum Class 3 license with airbrake endorsement Must provide a clean driver''s abstract and confirm a minimum 3 years continuous current insurance with no claims or convictions on record Ability to work out of town with extended possible overnight stays. Some jobs may be out of province This job often requires overtime hours.
