Job Summary Reporting to the Operation Manager, the successful student will work alongside the Operations and Maintenance teams who are ultimately responsible for achieving maximum efficiency, reliability, and safety of the plant operations. This is a unionized position. To qualify for this position, you must be scheduled to return to school at the end of the work term. Responsibilities and tasks you may experience during your placement Participating in operating and maintaining gas turbines, heat recovery steam generators, a triple pressure steam turbine, and associated ancillary equipment Participating in water treatment plant activities, water testing, analysis Communicating effectively through our computerized maintenance management system and be familiar with PLC/DCS/HMI interfaces Performing various safety functions including lockout, hazard assessment/job safety analysis Participating in routine preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment Witness start-up, shutdown, and operation of the plant consistent with Atura Power operating procedures in accordance with O. Reg. 219/01. Requirements 4th class Ontario Operating Engineering Enrolled in school the following term Team player attitude Driver''s license and access to vehicle Atura plants are not accessible by transit Physical Demands Lifting / moving up to 50lbs Climbing ladders and working at heights and/or in confined spaces Atura Power strives to embody the values of respect, collaboration, and diversity, and has a strong commitment to employment equity.
