The Armour Group Limited is seeking a Legal Counsel to join our team. Reporting to the Associate General Counsel , the Legal Counsel will provide strategic support and advice to the company on a wide range of legal matters. The successful candidate will be capable of working in a broad, fast-paced legal role that requires engagement across all operational teams. They will have the opportunity to practice in a collaborative environment as part of a strong and well-integrated legal team, taking on interesting and varied legal work. As the Legal Counsel, your work will include: Drafting and negotiating commercial leases. Drafting, reviewing, negotiating and interpreting contracts and other agreements. Providing guidance and advice on a variety of subjects, including corporate, employment, regulatory, litigation and legal disputes, due diligence, insurance claims, legal and administrative processes and procedures, and other matters as they may arise. Assist operational departments with dispute resolution, including drafting notices and negotiating a resolution. Providing support on full-cycle transactions, including, corporate, real estate and commercial financing. Overseeing corporate matters, including incorporations, annual renewals and maintenance of corporate records. Managing litigation and other disputes, including providing representation in Small Claims Court. Assisting with policy and procedure review, development and compliance. What we are looking for: 3+ years experience as lawyer at a law firm or in-house legal department. Qualified to practice law in Nova Scotia. Experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating complex agreements, applying sound judgment. Prior experience with commercial leases would be an asset, but not having experience in this area should not discourage otherwise qualified applicants.
