Position: Existing Overview Continual Energy Inc. and its subsidiary ARKHEAT are revolutionizing electrified heating systems, providing future-proof, modular heating and cooling systems for commercial and industrial buildings, data centers, decarbonization applications, and more. The qualified candidate will join our talented team of nearly 100 employees working to implement award-winning energy savings projects for our valued clients. The Mechanical Service and Maintenance Technician performs maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on chillers, heat pumps, and related mechanical systems, ensuring reliable and efficient operation of our electrified heating and cooling solutions across commercial and industrial facilities. Responsibilities Report directly to the Service Manager for scheduling and dispatch of mechanical service work orders and contracts. Perform preventive maintenance, operational inspections, and repairs on mechanical systems including chillers, heat pumps, and hydronic plants. Conduct diagnostic reviews, electrical inspections, and mechanical calibration of sensors and control components. Perform tasks such as condenser tube brushing, oil checks, pressure/temperature sensor calibration, and flow/differential switch verification. Execute Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures prior to performing maintenance and restore equipment safely upon completion. Work collaboratively with Building Automation System (BAS) specialists to verify system communications between mechanical equipment, PLCs, and the BAS. Utilize service monitoring software and diagnostic tools to review operating data and confirm system performance. Complete all required service documentation, including maintenance checklists, calibration logs, and timesheets. Communicate effectively with building management regarding findings, recommendations, and operational status of mechanical equipment. Regular commute to the downtown core, with occasional travel within the GTA. Skills Licensed 313A Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic in good standing. Minimum 5 years of relevant experience servicing HVAC and refrigeration systems in commercial or institutional facilities. Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, including chillers, cooling towers, pumps, compressors, and heat exchangers. Experience with Danfoss compressors is highly desirable. Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, wiring schematics, and control sequences. Competence with service monitoring tools, gauges, and digital instrumentation. Working knowledge of Building Automation Systems (BAS) and communication with mechanical controllers. Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Strong communication and reporting abilities with clients and internal teams. Qualifications and Education Required Valid 313A Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic license. Gas Fitter 1 or 2 certification considered an asset. Post-secondary diploma in Mechanical or HVAC, is an asset. Preferred Experience Experience servicing and maintaining commercial or industrial HVAC and refrigeration systems. Hands-on experience with Danfoss compressors, chillers, and heat pump systems. Physically Demands Ability to perform manual tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing ladders, and working in mechanical rooms. Comfortable working in confined spaces, on rooftops, or in varying environmental conditions. Compensation Hourly ranges from $40 to $60, depending on experience and qualifications. Three (3) weeks of vacation. Ten (10) paid days off (sick days). Comprehensive health benefits package after a ninety (90) day probationary period. Schedule The typical work week is Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, On-site attendance in the GTA office and factory is required.
