Job Title: Shuttle Driver (Class 4 License required) Shuttle Driver - Part-time (Sunday & Monday) We are looking for an energetic and friendly part-time Shuttle Driver (Class 4) to safely transport residents, offer a helping hand, and keep our retirement community moving smoothly. Please check out website and Facebook page to learn more about Rotary Villas at Crocus Gardens. This position works 13 hours weekly, Sunday (8:00 am - 1:00 pm) and Monday (8:00 am - 4:30pm) shifts. Starting wage $19.50 per hour. MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Transports residents to and from medical appointments, activities, shopping and errands using company owned vehicle. Abides by all traffic laws and regulations. Assists residents in and out of shuttle in a safe and prudent manner Secures passengers wheelchairs and seatbelts prior to trip. Practices safe driving techniques at all times for all weather and road conditions. Completes pre-trip inspections and completes required documentation. Cleans and services shuttle with fuel, lubricants etc. as needed. Reports and coordinates shuttle maintenance repairs with the Wellness Coordinator. Assists with minor community and resident maintenance requests. Coordinates with Receptionist to optimize daily shuttle schedule to accommodate resident transportation needs. Participates and documents facility''s ongoing preventative maintenance checks. Always acts respectfully towards co-workers, supports teamwork practices, and maintains positive work relations and communication. Provides transportation services supporting high quality customer service and resident satisfaction. Adheres to all safety & health regulations and safe work practices. Liaises and consults with residents, families, and the community to maintain a good public image for Rotary Villas. Performs other duties as needed and/or assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Required: Class 4 Drivers License Clear Driver''s Abstract, renewed annually A current and clear Criminal Records Check including Vulnerable Sector Search, Adult Abuse Registry Check & Child Abuse Registry Check Current CPR and First Aid Certification required, or must be willing to obtain upon hire Fully vaccinated against Covid-19 Excellent driving skills and habits, ability to read maps Ability to assist residents on to shuttle, securing wheelchair and seatbelts Effective English oral and written communication skills to respectfully and compassionately work with seniors and their families Maintain a professional, but functional, appearance in dress and grooming, as well as high standards of cleanliness and personal hygiene. Demonstrated ability to multitask Exceptional time management skills and ability to prioritize Good judgment and ability to exercise discretion Ability to self-initiate and work well as a team member with a positive attitude Compassionate, courteous, and respectful Excellent observational skills and ability to determine urgency or reportable incidents Strong aptitude towards the good health and safety of all residents, staff, and visitors Excellent and attentive driving skills; the ability to drive safely, follow all applicable laws and ensure the safety of all while avoiding traffic accidents Seek out and perform other duties as assigned Preferred: Five (5) or more years of driving experience Knowledge of vehicle preventative maintenance programs Job Types: Permanent, Part-time Pay: From $19.50 per hour Experience: driving: 1 year (preferred) Language: English (preferred) Licence/Certification: Class 4 Licence (required) Work Location: In person
