Objectives: The Picker Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a truck-mounted crane (picker unit) to lift, load, and transport equipment or materials to and from job sites. Operators must adhere to all safety protocols, inspect and maintain equipment, and work collaboratively with other team members on-site. Responsibilities: Operate picker truck to lift, move, and position equipment or materials according to project needs. Perform daily equipment inspections and preventative maintenance. Participate in daily safety & tailgate meetings. Report all hazards or near misses to the company representative on site. Secure loads using rigging gear (slings, chains, spreader bars, etc.) as per load charts and best practices. Follow load weight limits and safe lifting procedures as per manufacturer''s guidelines and company policies. Communicate effectively with the swamper/rigging crew and site supervisors. Complete all required documentation (pre-trip inspections, logbooks, safety reports, etc.). Ensure compliance with Alberta OH&S and other applicable regulations. Assist with other site duties as needed (when not operating the crane). Relevant Requirements: Grade 12 education or above. Proficient in the use of a Picker in a Well Servicing Rig Support Role. 5 years of experience with a Boom Truck Lift Ticket. Having a valid class 1 driver license with a clean abstract. Strong work ethic and knowledge of the equipment with the ability to troubleshoot complex is a benefit. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Good communication skills to effectively convey directions, guidance and information. Must be legally allowed to work full time in Canada.
