Overview We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic MathTutor to support students in achieving their academic goals. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education, strong communication skills, and experience working with senior high school students. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by providing personalized instruction in various subjects, including math, calculus and science. The Tutor will work closely with students to enhance their understanding and confidence in their learning journey. Duties Provide one-on-one or group tutoring sessions tailored to students'' individual needs Assist students with homework, test preparation, and understanding core concepts in subjects such as math, calculus, and science. Develop engaging lesson plans and educational activities that foster student interest and learning Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting teaching strategies accordingly Utilize computer skills to incorporate educational software and online resources into lessons Maintain a positive and encouraging learning environment Collaborate with parents, teachers, and school staff to support student success Ensure a safe and respectful classroom or tutoring space at all times Assign and mark homework everyday Experience Prior experience working with senior high school students Familiar with Canadian Mathmatics Curriculum Background in tutoring or teaching across various subjects such as math, Calculus, and Science Knowledge of Scientific calculator and TI-84 Plus Graphing Calculator Experience with educational technology and computer skills to facilitate interactive learning Previous classroom experience or training in teaching methodologies will be considered an asset Strong communication skills and patience are essential for success in this role Language Can communicate in both English & Japanese language fluently is an asset.
