Position Overview: The role of the Invigilator is to monitoradministration of languageassessments (Listening,Reading,and Writingportion) to ensure that all testing and confidentiality guidelines are followed and that test takers are provided with testing environment that would enable them to perform to the best of their abilities. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canadatobe considered for this position. Note: This is a casual position. KeyResponsibilities: To ensure thatappropriate testingmaterials and equipment are available and set up prior to assessment session Distribute Writing and/or Reading test to test takers Keep records of start and finish time Assign clients to language assessors for Listening/Speaking test portion Provide standardized instructions to clients based on the training received Assistwith the completion of client intake and data collection Assistand implement online invigilation Assistwith the general task work necessary to the smooth functioning of the Centre, includingassistingother staff in their duties whenrequired Interact with clients demonstratingtact, diplomacy,respectand neutrality General office functions including micro computer applications, typing, filing, photocopying, faxing, record keeping etc. Assistwith the ordering and maintenance of office supplies,brochuresand pamphlets Assist, on occasion, with managing C-LARC''s very busymulti-line switchboard. This duty including answering phone, transferring calls, takingaccuratemessages, book client appointments for assessments and counselling according to established procedures, and conduct systematic daily appointment verification and confirmation Other duties as assigned Qualifications and skills: Education Certificate in Office Administration/Clerical. A combination of education and relevant experience will be considered. Experience Excellent time management,multitaskingand problem solving Excellent computer, data entry and typing skills Excellent customer service skills General understanding of second language acquisition and test-taking techniques Familiarity with Canadian Language Benchmarks Excellent command of English Office and filing experience Attributes and Core Competencies Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment Excellent work ethics Ability to work alone and as a part of a team Cross-cultural awareness and sensitivity, with prior experience working across a variety of cultural and language groups.
