The Mental Health Nurse B works under the direction of the Mental Health Manager in the assigned sector/region. The position, under the direction of the Mental Health Manager, directs Mental Health activities in order to provide care to clients. In the absence of other Managers, the position has the authority to direct the activities of the program. Experience Experience in mental health & addictions is an asset 1-3 yrs nursing exp. in in-patient/community mental health, home care, and/or ER Education Bachelor of Psychiatric Nursing (BPN) Other Education and Training Psychiatric Nursing diploma is acceptable Nursing diploma is acceptable Bachelor of Nursing is acceptable Competencies Basic Supervisory skills Leadership skills Knowledge and Abilities Has demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills. Commitment to continued learning and professional development. Competent critical thinking/judgement/autonomous decision making capabilities. Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team. Ability to apply research to nursing practice.
