Job Summary We are hiring a Part Time Radiological Technologist to practice diagnostic radiographic, fluoroscopic, and medical imaging procedures, following professional standards, clientcentered care, and the vision of Fraser Health. Demonstrated knowledge of organization policies, procedures and standards of care, including safe work procedures. Demonstrated knowledge of research process and methodology. Demonstrated knowledge of PACS/RIS, digital imaging, archiving and retrieval. Effective verbal and written communication with clients, families, coworkers, physicians and others. Operating related equipment independently and collaboratively. Establish workload priorities with others. CPR techniques. Computer skills using client care information systems. Physical ability to perform the duties of the position. Responsibilities Performs all general duty radiographic/fluoroscopic procedures consistent with standards and protocols, working with physicians and other health professionals. Performs requested examinations per departmental standards and radiation protection practices. Completes procedures using appropriate equipment, labels permanent records, updates records in RIS/PACS, checks resultant images for technical quality and refers problems to supervisor; stores digital images appropriately. Explains procedures and provides instructions, answering any questions from patients/clients. Ensures relevant clinical data is collected and recorded in the database. Prepares contrast agents (e.g., syringes, barium solutions) and tray setup; disposes items per policy and cleans instruments for reprocessing. Monitors patient care and safety during procedures, ensuring adherence to departmental standards and policies. Contributes to quality improvement and riskmanagement procedures. Tests equipment for imaging, viewing, processing and recording performance; performs qualitycontrol tests and minor adjustments or arranges for repairs; cleans technical area and maintains supplies. Performs clerical duties related to patient demographics, histories and data entry. Assists in instruction of employees and/or students, including orientations, inservice presentations, demonstrations and answering questions. Participates in approved research and special projects with supervisor and others. Engages in continuous quality improvement/LEAN programs using monitoring and auditing methodologies.
