Those looking for more information are invited to visit our Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Policy.As the Manager of Hospital Redevelopment, this position will oversee and manage the renovation and redevelopment projects of new and existing hospitals within the province. Reporting to the Director of Building Services, this position will ensure that hospital renovations and expansions are executed efficiently, on schedule, and within budget. This role will involve close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, managing resources, and overseeing all aspects of hospital redevelopment, from planning through to completion.Duties will include but are not limited to:Build out, lead and manage a team of project team to deliver successful hospital construction, renovation and expansion projects.Oversee project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation, ensuring timely completion and adherence to financial constraints.Evaluate project delivery options to determine most advantageous methods of procuring and constructing the redevelopment projects.Collaborate with engineer, architects, consultants, contractors, and healthcare providers to ensure compliance with policies, codes, and regulatory requirements.Conduct regular project reviews, identify risks, and implement corrective actions to mitigate delays or cost overruns.Coordinate with internal departments and external stakeholders to maintain clear communication and alignment on goals and milestones.Manage procurement processes for contracts and ensure adherence to specifications and safety standards.Ensure quality control through site inspections and contractor coordination.Assist in developing project phasing, capital budgets and accurate cost estimates for hospital renovation projects.Monitor expenditures and cash flow, ensuring compliance with approved budgets and financial regulations.Prepare detailed financial reports and forecasts for senior leadership.Recommend financial adjustments and identify cost-saving opportunities.Manage funding sources and ensure compliance with provincial and federal requirements.Act as the primary liaison between the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure, Health PEI, hospital administrators, contractors, and other stakeholders.Facilitate collaboration among architects, engineers, and construction managers to achieve project objectives.Resolve conflicts and maintain alignment among all parties involved.Work with Health PEI to coordinate engagement of hospital staff and healthcare providers to minimize operational disruptions during renovations.Identify and assess risks related to safety, budget, timelines, and regulatory compliance.Ensure compliance with building codes, health and safety standards, infection prevention and control requirements, environmental regulations, and accessibility requirements.Prepare comprehensive reports, presentations, and briefing materials for senior leadership and oversight bodies.Maintain accurate documentation of all project phases, approvals, and changes.Support change management initiatives, including relocation planning and workflow adjustments.Minimum Qualifications:Must have a University degree in Engineering or Architecture.A professional designation in good standing and ability to obtain membership in the Association of Professional Engineers of P.E.I. or the Architects Association of PEI.Considerable experience related to operation, renovation, repair or construction of complex buildings.Extensive experience in design and construction work associated with building renovation and construction.Extensive experience in building construction project management including (but not limited to);Scheduling;Design and tendering processes;Commissioning and Warranty phase.Incumbent must have considerable experience in administration and management of large budgets.Must have extensive experience in dealing with client departments on the delivery of projects and provision of services.Must have considerable supervisory experience.Must understand Preventative Maintenance Programs.Must have extensive technical background in building construction and maintenance.Must be able to function on a province wide basis, with a minimum amount of supervision.Must have strong leadership and interpersonal skills, as well as being able to carry out the duties of the position with limited supervision.Must have a valid Prince Edward Island drivers license and access to a reliable vehicle.The successful incumbent must provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Record Check, prior to employment.The successful incumbent must provide a current hearing test.Good previous work record and attendance is required.Other Qualifications:Experience is the use of computer assisted drafting software would be considered an asset.Bilingual (French) would be an asset.Please Note: Please ensure the application clearly demonstrates how you meet the noted qualifications as applicants will be screened based on the information provided.
