Jr. Category Manager (Furniture) Department: Category Management Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time Location: Vancouver Compensation: $85,000 - $95,000 / year Description Hi there, were Article. This is where you come in, as a Junior Category Specialist you'll shape and execute the product assortment strategy, helping us offer the right products to the right customers at the right time. If you are in a Buying, Merchandise Planning, or Demand Planning role currently this role is in the same wheelhouse. Why We Need You: Youve already built a few years of experience in category, merchandising or product management and are confident in using insights to find solutions and bring forward your recommendations. You're developed a solid foundation and are ready to take on more complex work with increasing autonomy. As part of the Category team, youll be helping to drive what trends are rising in the furniture and decor world. And help analyze which new products will bring the most value to Articles expanding product offerings. Youll be part of a supportive team that will help you sharpen and grow your skill set in the Product Category world. Youll get to learn from a diverse team of Category and Merchandising professionals. What Youll Do As a Junior Category Manager, youll have meaningful autonomy to identify opportunities and develop recommendations, partnering closely with a Category Manager as you build your skillset toward full category ownership. This includes: Using market insights, trend data, and customer needs to help shape category strategy. Supporting the Category Manager in building the category line plan and pricing strategy. Analyzing inseason and postseason performance to inform goforward decisions. Partnering with teams in Design, Sourcing, Planning, and Marketing to ensure alignment. Tracking product performance and manage the full lifecycle, from launch through exit. Leading product exits and promotional strategies in collaboration with Planning and Marketing. Acting as a subject matter expert for your category and stay current with competitors. Communicating category vision to internal teams to support marketing and sales plans. Working from our Vancouver HQ 3 days per week in a hybrid environment. We use G Suite (Gmail, Sheets, Google Docs, Meet, etc) to work and Slack to collaborate and communicate, with your choice of Mac or PC device. Who You Are 2+ years of experience in a Category Management ideally in eCommerce or furniture/home goods can include merchandising, buyer, product or related positions. Youre someone who gets into the details and analyzes best options before making a decision. You move fast but stay organized. You see a design and style, and you understand why and how it would fit into Article Product offerings. Youre confident using data to make smart, informed decisions. You pay close attention to detail and adapt easily when plans shift. Youre collaborative, resilient, and bring above the line behaviour to your work. Legally able to work in Canada.
