Their work reflects SFUs values of stewardship, innovation, and continuous improvement.About the RoleSimon Fraser University is seeking a Temporary Project Manager (PM1) to lead operational projects within the Buildings & Grounds team. This role will focus on improving internal processes and supporting critical operations to ensure SFUs campuses remain safe, efficient, and well-maintained. By driving initiatives that enhance workflows and strengthen service delivery, the PM1 will play a key role in supporting SFUs commitment to operational excellence and creating an exceptional campus experience for students, faculty, and staff. The position reports directly to the Associate Director, Buildings & Grounds.The ideal candidate is a proactive and organized professional with a strong background in project management and operational process improvement. They thrive in collaborative environments, communicate effectively across diverse teams, and are committed to delivering highquality results that enhance efficiency and service delivery. With a keen eye for detail and a solutionsoriented mindset, they can manage multiple priorities while ensuring safety, compliance, and operational excellence. Experience in institutional or facilities settings is a strong asset, along with a passion for supporting sustainable, functional, and wellmaintained campus environments.QualificationsDiploma in Architecture or Interior Design and five years of related experience in project management and commercial design for renovation projects or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.Strong knowledge of facilities operations, building systems, and process improvement methodologies.Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills to support crossteam collaboration.Proven ability to manage project timelines, budgets, and documentation with attention to detail.Familiarity with safety, compliance, and regulatory standards in facilities environments.Demonstrated experience leading operational or facilities projects from planning through execution.Experience in institutional or campus settings is considered an asset.What We OfferAt SFU, our goal is to ensure our people are valued and supported by promoting a healthy worklife balance, professional growth and development, as well as a safe and respectful workplace.
