The role will fly-in, fly-out from Calgary on a 2 weeks on, 1 week off rotation. LOA is provided for the role.About the RoleReporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Specialist has primary responsibility for coordination, execution and oversight of quality control during all shop and field fabrication/construction and ensures all work is completed in accordance with legislated, company and client quality standards. The QC Specialist assists in the development and supervision of the Quality Department functions and provides advanced level support to QC Inspectors.As a Quality Specialist at Graham, you will:ResponsibilitiesReview project specifications and drawings for awareness and understanding of quality requirementsWork closely with project field team in the planning, execution and monitoring of quality management processProvide technical assistance to site superintendents and project managers in the application of the Graham quality programAssist in the development of project quality risk assessments, quality plans and ITPs prior to execution of the scope of workOrganize and chair internal PQRA, ITP and pre-mob meetingsAct as the teams QC Inspector, assist in preparing QC documentation binders for distribution and rolloutProvide technical expertise, recommendations and assistance to project personnel regarding the application of quality programVerify code and specified NDE requirements are implemented at shop and field sitesAssist in the resolution of field QC issuesPrepare and present training information to Graham and Vendors relating to quality managementParticipate and/or lead project audits as requiredAssist in progressing corrective actions required from audit findings to a satisfactory conclusionDevelop project specific documentsProvide work leadership to QC Inspectors and attend Shop and Field sites to assess / monitor performancePrepare and deliver periodic project performance/quality reports as requiredAssist with and verify turnover packages are completed for storage and retentionLiaise with jurisdictional authorities, third party inspectors, and outside agencies/organizations as required during execution of the projectProvide support in developing project specific protocols / documentsAssist in the maintenance of the Graham project specific quality plan and applicable Graham quality formsMake suggestions on improvements or changes to quality program based on professional observations and expertiseProviding input to management quality meetings as requestedSupport continual improvement initiatives / activitiesOther duties as assignedQualifications & Experience5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in quality management, preferably in building construction, with demonstrated technical and work leadershipKnowledge in Mechanical Electrical Plumbing (MEP) inspections and Provincial Regulations considered an assetAttention to detail, accuracy and thoroughnessStrong organizational and interpersonal skillsAbility to manage conflicting needs while ensuring quality standards and deadlines are metProblem solving skills and solutions-oriented approachesAbility to multitask, prioritize and manage day-to-day responsibilitiesProficiency with computers, specifically Microsoft Word and ExcelEqual Opportunity Employer: Graham is an Equal Opportunity Employer, and employment decisions are based on merit, qualifications, and abilities.
