OverviewWere looking for motivated, engaged people to help make everyones journeys better.Main Duties and ResponsibilitiesEnsure all incidents are investigated to identify causes; work with stakeholders to agree on corrective actions; track corrective actions through to completion; monitor successTrack OHS data in a meaningful way (accidents, near misses, workplace inspection findings, days lost, etc.); create and maintain KPIsUse leading indicator data to proactively identify opportunities for improvement and to develop department-specific training to address those opportunitiesCollaborate with departments on their Safety Improvement Plans and develop SOPsChair / Co-chair Joint Health and Safety Committee meetingsLead PRIDE and SQUAD teams within unit and region to enhance Safety awareness among all staffManage safety training programs for Unit personnel. Track training and ensure material is current.Communicate to and educate all levels of Unit personnel on mandated safety requirements such as WHMIS and other governmental environmental guidelinesEnsure that each department managers safety-related activities are completed, such as workplace inspections, SQORs (Safety Quality Observation Report) and corrective actionsConduct safety training programs in conjunction with the Senior Compliance ManagerCommunicate required prevention steps by providing Safety Alerts, Safety, Acknowledgement Forms, and Shift Briefings to unitResponsible for transportation training and manuals to ensure all requirements are currentEnsure compliance with company and regulatory safety policies and procedures.Implement and sustain best practices in unit operationsEvaluate all new equipment and work processes for riskActively review and implement safety and environmental programs as developed by corporate headquarters.Develop new or revised standards and regulations and guide OU implementation with subject matter expertiseWorks with unit to secure full compliance with OSHA (or similar) regulatory compliance.Monitors, controls and drives improved compliance with the Core 5 requirements.Strong leadership skills including the ability to influence othersWork ExperienceMinimum of 3 years of experience in the field of safety and/or risk experience requiredPrevious in airline, manufacturing, distribution, operations or other fast paced environment.Solid understanding of OHS regulations, WHIMIS 2015Experience in a unionized environment a plusCommunication SkillsExcellent written and oral communication skills.MS Word, ExcelPerks at Workno waiting period for medical or dental benefitsRRSP matchingsubsidized mealsfree parkingfree access to an employee assistance programcompany wide discounts for Good Life Fitness, TELUS Mobility and Bell MobilityIf you want to be part of a team that helps make travel and culinarymemories, join us! #J-18808-Ljbffr
