Registered Veterinary Technologist Department: Emergency Casual Part-time Location: Vancouver, BCThe Vancouver Animal Emergency and Referral Centre is an established, cuttingedge, multidisciplinary facility located in the heart of metro Vancouver. Our Emergency Service is welcoming enthusiastic, highly motivated Registered Veterinary Technologists (RVTs) to join our evergrowing team!Our Emergency RVTs will use their technical skills to the fullest and are given the necessary tools and resources to be successful in pursuing one or multiple passions within our hospital.You will have opportunities to expand your learning through extensive exposure and involvement in various cases. Additional qualifications and attributes you must embrace to be successful in this role;Qualifications and attributesRegistered Veterinary Technologist, RVT or eligible to registerConfident team player who can also work independently when requiredExcellent customer service skills; a real aptitude for putting pets and pet parents at ease and creating a welcoming environmentExceptional interpersonal skills in working with your colleagues and pet parentsAbility to perform a variety of clinical procedures including (not limited to): venipuncture, catheter placement, radiology, inhouse lab work, anesthesia/sedation monitoring, patient assessment, and emergency triageWilling to further enhance technical skills and expertiseStrong organizational skills and ability to keep accurate medical recordsAbility to thrive and provide a high level of care in an often fastpaced environmentAbility to prioritize, problemsolve, and remain calm in stressful situationsAbility to adapt to changing situationsOur emergency department provides training to all new staff members to ensure the confidence and preparedness of all new team members. The hourly rate range is for the primary location for which the job is posted.
