High School Math/Science Tutor Wanted Motivated by mathematics? Sharp with science? Excited by equations in both fields? Eager to help students succeed in math and science? Our hours count! Gain valuable teaching experience at Oxford Learning York Mills. This position is perfect for anyone who loves working with students, enjoys numbers and equations, and is passionate about helping others build their skills in these areas. Position Requirements All Tutors at Oxford Learning work during afterschool and evening hours (4:00pm - 8:00pm) as well as some Saturdays (9:00am - 1:00pm). A commitment until the end of the school year is preferred and continuing through the summer is even better. Your students will love working with you, and being reliable is a must. This role is inperson; you must be able to commute to this location. Relocation packages are not available. Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory. Education Bachelors degree or similar certification in a relevant field Fourthyear university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered Teaching certification an asset Good knowledge of the current Grades 912 math and science curriculum, particularly senior math and including, but not limited to, Advanced Functions, algebra, trigonometry and calculus, as well as vectors, physics, chemistry, and biology Experience Some experience teaching/tutoring math and science at a Grade 9 to 12 (or equivalent) level Strong English written and oral communication skills Strong math skills and ability to guide students understanding Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time Responsibilities (Position Details) Teaching up to 3 students at a time at different levels Teaching online and inperson Following the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies Filling in postlesson notes Completing daily student communication updates Maintaining a friendly and professional manner at all times Smiles, HighFives & Happy Students Fun staff events Ongoing training opportunities Frequent checkins and feedback Company growth opportunities Handson development of your teaching skills Job Type Parttime Salary $18.50 - $21 / hour Schedule Evenings Monday to Thursday Saturday availability About Oxford Learning Oxford Learning is a Canadian supplemental education provider helping students get better grades since 1984.
