We are seeking an EH&S Engineer III to strategically plan and administer all aspects of environmental, health and safety at the site, ensuring compliance with global and local EH&S laws and maintaining ISO14001:2015 certification. Primary Responsibilities Advises management concerning the organizations EH&S program status and is actively involved in decision making and implementation of appropriate measures. Develops and implements strategies for reducing EH&S incidents. Responsible to prepare and submit any mandatory local governmental EH&S permits. Maintain compliance to all such relevant EH&S permits for the site. Conduct EH&S training programs that comply with local laws and regulations. Report up to Corporate on major EH&S related issues, incidents and potential regulatory violations. Manage and monitor the progress of EU REACH, RoHS and other global EH&S regulations that are applicable to the site and associated products. Develops and implements EH&S programs as required to continually meet regulatory requirements, corporate requirements and any applicable global EH&S regulation that is relevant to the sites business and products. Ensures compliance with requirements of ISO 14001:2015 and actively participates in site audits. Also, responsible for hosting both customers and Registrars onsite audit. Conducts Management review with the site leadership team that comply with the requirements of ISO14001:2015. Maintains, develops and implements EH&S procedures & prevention programs such as machine safety, LOTO, elevated work, confined space, WHMIS, TDG, PPE, hygiene program, medical surveillance program, ergonomics, isolated worker, emergency response plan, rescue plan, asbestos, legionella, ventilation / extraction, electrical safety, forklift, preventive withdrawal of pregnant women and nursing, respiratory protection, safety inspection, etc. Responsible for the training and purchasing of necessary equipment for emergency response team. Also acts as an active EH&S subject matter expert of the emergency response team and oversees the good proceedings of the emergency-response. Performs analysis and incident investigations, and work with the team to oversee appropriate root causes are identified and corrective actions are implemented. Conducts regular visits on the floor to ensure compliance of EH&S procedures during normal operations, maintenance and construction. Advises and offers supervisors & managers solutions to provide EH&S expertise and necessary assistance to deal with any situation related to EH&S. Develop and maintain performance indicators and EH&S statistics. Responsible to promote EH&S awareness and culture for the site. Collaborates with HR for the management of workers compensation cases. Established EH&S training needs for all hierarchical level and ensure that training matrix is kept updated in conjunction with HR. This position owns the EH&S training program and training matrix. Acts as a trainer for various EH&S programs and general EH&S training. Develops and recommends programs such as pollution prevention, waste minimization, energy reduction, etc. Maintains inventory of existing hazardous materials and hazardous wastes as part of regulatory requirement. Responsible for performing assessment of product compliance to the latest EU REACH and RoHS Directives with the support of other functional groups and prepare letter of conformance for customers when requested. Lead the JHSC (Joint Health and Safety Committee) and manage all JHSC activities. Manage the site response to safety observations. Perform workplace ergonomics evaluations, safety inspections and on going job hazard analysis. Other duties as assigned. Requirements 5+ years experience as an Environment, Health & Safety specialist and/or Engineer Bachelors degree with specialization in Health & Safety and Environment, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or equivalent Working knowledge of ISO 14001:2015 is a requirement. Certified lead auditor in ISO14001:2015 is desirable. Working knowledge of OHSAS18001 is desirable. Ability to conduct ergonomics assessments Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively interface with external and internal contacts Ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders and to build & maintain strong working relationships.
