Physiotherapist Fraser Canyon Hospital Hope Salary: CAD $42.56 - $52.95 / hour Job Summary: A unique rural opportunity just a short twohour drive east of Vancouvers city centre. Hope is an outdoor paradise with a variety of recreational opportunities and a vibrant culture surrounded by majestic mountains and breathtaking views. This parttime Physiotherapist will provide essential support to the health care team in Hope, B.C. Detailed Overview Under the general direction of the Professional Practice Chief, Physiotherapy, the Physiotherapist assesses, plans, implements, and monitors physiotherapy treatment for patients and residents. Delegates components of treatment to Assistants/Aides and acts as a resource on issues relating to physiotherapy expertise. Participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of clinical physiotherapy practice, including philosophy, goals, policies, procedures, continuous quality improvement, and risk management of the physiotherapy services. Responsibilities Provides clinical physiotherapy treatment, including assessment, problem identification, setting treatment goals, treatments, and reevaluation of patients/residents and community patients. Educates patients/residents and their families in all aspects of physiotherapy treatment. Obtains patient/resident history from chart, interviews, observation, and information from conferences and team meetings. Makes treatment recommendations to ensure quality patient/resident care. Delegates components of treatment to Assistants/Aides by instructing, observing, and monitoring to ensure quality care. Provides input for performance evaluation of Assistants/Aides. Promotes awareness of good body mechanics to facility staff, patients/residents, and families through modeling, presentations, and resource support. Maintains patient/resident records, clinical outcome measures, and statistical data in accordance with department, facility, and professional standards. Participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the physiotherapy service by providing input on philosophy, goals, policies, procedures, continuous quality improvement, and risk management. Participates in interdisciplinary, departmental, and professional development to remain current with evidencebased physiotherapy practice. Provides instruction, feedback, and supervision to students as required. Performs other related duties as required. Qualifications Education and Experience Graduate of a recognized program in Physiotherapy from an accredited university. Current full registration with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC and eligible for membership in the Physiotherapy Association of British Columbia (PABC). Skills and Abilities Knowledge of evidencebased clinical practice related to the designated clinical area. Ability to assess and treat a diversity of conditions commonly seen in the relevant area of practice. Broad knowledge of other health care disciplines and their role in client care. Teamworking skills and effective communication with coworkers and clients in oneonone and group settings. Independence and collaborative work capability. Effective consultation skills. Workload prioritization in a complex health care environment. Judgment to refer to another health care professional when appropriate. Physical ability to perform the duties of the position. Skill in the use of equipment and appropriate physiotherapy techniques. Basic computer literacy. Knowledge of the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC standards for practice of physical therapy. Ability to manage conflict situations effectively.
