VCH is seeking an experienced Administrative Supervisor 5 with supervisory experience to support the Administrative Services team in Sechelt, BC.As an Administrative Supervisor 5 with VCH you will:Be responsible to oversee the daily operation of an office/program and the delivery of administrative support services.Supervise designated staff; schedule/monitor work to ensure accurate and timely completion of tasks; provide guidance and feedback in performance of work.Assist in the development and implementation of worksite policies/procedures and related documents in response to organizational needs.Identify opportunities to streamline clerical processes and procedures.Assist in monitoring expenses against approved budgets; provide input into office needs, regular ongoing and/or anticipated expenses.Investigate variances and liaise with finance to resolve.Maintain/reconcile petty cash accounts.Purchase stationery supplies, review/authorize expenses according to established procedures.Attend to facility maintenance, safety/security matters; liaise with building maintenance, safety/security personnel to ensure resolution of issues.About Sechelt, BCSechelt is located on the traditional territories of the shshlh (Sechelt) Nation and is approximately 50 km northwest of Vancouver. It is accessible from the mainland by a 40-minute ferry trip between Horseshoe Bay and Langdale, followed by a 25-minute drive along Highway 101, the Sunshine Coast Highway. It is a short walk or bike ride to work, with opportunities for leisure after work.Education & ExperienceGrade 12, supplemented by a recognized diploma in Business Administration plus three (3) years recent, related experience including one (1) year supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.Valid BC Drivers license and access to a vehicle for business-related purposes.Knowledge & AbilitiesAbility to supervise and to plan, organize and prioritize.Ability to work independently and in cooperation with others.Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.Ability to analyze and resolve programs; knowledge of general office procedures including business writing skills, medical terminology, and experience completing financial transactions.Ability to evaluate and monitor administrative systems and procedures.Ability to type 50 wpm.Ability to operate related office equipment including applicable software applications.Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the Collective Agreement.
