Interior Health is hiring a permanent full-time Lead Facilitator, IndigenousSpecific Antiracism Education to join our team. Interior Health establishes salaries within the minimum and maximum of the salary range based on consideration of the qualifications, experience of the applicant, and an internal equity review of the salaries of other employees. How Will You Create an Impact? In accordance with the established vision and values of the organization, the Lead Facilitator participates in the development of an Interior Healthwide Indigenousspecific antiracism education framework and facilitates sections of Indigenousspecific antiracism education and the Indigenous Cultural Safety education. As a resource to IH staff, the Lead Facilitator provides consultation and direction related to the development of guidelines, systems, and instruments to support the achievement and maintenance of antiracism education that is Indigenousspecific, and collaborates with colleagues in other disciplines to ensure appropriate staff development and participation in Indigenous Cultural Safety education is embedded throughout the continuum of health services. Responsibilities Keep pace with changes by scanning research for relevant trends that are based in best practices, and developments affecting the portfolios programs. Demonstrate the ability to identify strategic issues and collaborate with colleagues within the Indigenous Partnerships umbrella to assess the situation and identify alternatives. Stay up to date on current IH, provincial, and federal initiatives related to Indigenous Cultural Safety education, Indigenousspecific antiracism education, and best practices in adult education. Build collaborative, integrative partnerships across IH that can champion and build momentum for strategic change rooted in academic research and best practices. Participate in the development of an organizationwide Indigenousspecific antiracism education framework and facilitate Indigenousspecific antiracism education and the Indigenous Cultural Safety education throughout the continuum of health services. Provide organizationwide training that supports IHs commitment to deliver services in a manner that is perceived by Indigenous recipients of care, and their families, as being culturally safe. Organize and facilitate Indigenousspecific antiracism education and Indigenous cultural safety education events in collaboration with local, internal, and external partners. Effectively facilitate dialogue, identify potential crisis responses, assess situations, and manage conflict within an emotionally charged and crossracial dynamic utilizing specialized skills and knowledge. Support in the identification of needs and development of resource material to ensure appropriate staff development and participation in the education and cultural safety initiatives within IH portfolios. Act as a resource to IH staff, providing coaching, mentoring, subject matter expertise, and recommendations on specific questions or issues that arise relating to Indigenousspecific antiracism education and Indigenous cultural safety education. Collaborate with IH colleagues in other programs, other provincial health authorities, government partners, Host Nations, Mtis Chartered Communities, and urban and away from home Indigenous peoples. Develop, implement, and support strategies to address IHs strategic direction and priorities of the Indigenous Health programs strategic plan. Foster and maintain effective relationships with a broad range of internal partners, Host Nations, Mtis Chartered Communities, and urban and away from home Indigenous peoples service providers, to further the achievement of nation, Interior Health, and ministry of health goals, objectives, and performance measures. Liaise with internal partners, interested parties, programs, and portfolios. Represent the Indigenous Cultural Safety and Humility pillars vision and direction on internal committees. Liaise with First Nation, Mtis, and urban and away from home Indigenous health leaders regarding current and emerging program direction, as needed. Mentor, educate, build community capacity, and increase understanding, support, and acceptance of future directions. Assist in providing guidance for Indigenous Cultural Safety and Antiracismrelated initiatives within the Indigenous Partnerships portfolio, and across the organization. Provide progress updates related to organizational targets for staff training and education. Adhere to all occupational health and safety policies and procedures at all times and attend all required training. Report any identified hazards, unsafe conditions, or incidents to the manager or supervisor immediately. Perform other related duties as assigned.
